Washington Commanders end Baltimore Ravens’ preseason win streak
GEOFF BURKE, USA TODAY SPORTS
With nine seconds left, Washington Commanders kicker Joey Slye connected on a 49-yard field goal to defeat the Baltimore Ravens, 29-28. The Ravens had won 24 consecutive preseason games going back to 2016.
With four minutes left in the game, Washington was one yard away from tying it at 28, but Ravens cornerback Kyu Kelly stopped Commanders fullback Alex Armah after he grabbed a pass in the flat from backup quarterback Jake Fromm, preventing the Commanders from scoring.
With quarterback Anthony Brown Jr. leading the way, the Ravens were unable to extend the game. With 69 seconds left, Washington had a 4th-and-11 on their own side of the field and were saved by a pass interference call that continued the drive.
“We were just grinding, scrapping, clawing,” Fromm told USA TODAY Sports .
There’s no one reason the streak lasted as long as it did, Harbaugh said. It’s a reflection of how the organization practices, holds meetings, develops young players and scouts the collegiate and pro game for depth pieces.

10-man Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 1-0 to their perfect Premier League start
Even though it was just the second week of the season, the Arsenal bench celebrated Monday’s 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace as if it were the Premier League championship match. Their team managed to hold on to the victory despite sending Takehiro Tomiyasu to the sin bin in the second half.
The Japan defender was penalized twice this season for time-wasting infractions: once for dithering at a throw-in on the hour mark, and once for yanking Jordan Ayew’s jersey in the 67th.
“It shows how much we want it,” Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said of the celebrations.

3.Lucy Letby – Search Volume 100K+
Lucy Letby sentenced to life in prison for the murders of 7 babies
The worst punishment imaginable was inflicted to Lucy Letby because she refused to appear in court for sentence or to face the wrath and agony of her bereaved parents. British law does not permit the death penalty.
The number of murders, attempted murders, and the nature of the murders committed by a nurse in charge of the youngest, most vulnerable newborns, according to Justice James Goss, established the “exceptional circumstances” necessary to issue a rare “whole-life order.” In the UK, only three other women have ever been given such a severe punishment.
“There was a deep malevolence bordering on sadism in your actions,” Goss said, addressing the absent defendant, who will be given a transcript of the proceedings. “During the course of this trial, you have coldly denied any responsibility for your wrongdoing. You have no remorse. There are no mitigating factors.”
Letby, 33, was found guilty of murdering the seven babies over the course of a year by a Manchester Crown Court jury after 22 days of deliberation. Letby preyed on the weaknesses of unwell newborns and their worried parents. There were eight jurors present to witness the sentencing.
Letby harmed infants by forcing some to consume milk and poisoned others with insulin while also putting air into IV lines. She occasionally cried in sorrow after murdering them, created souvenirs for the parents, cleaned the infant bodies, and dressed them for burial.
The victims, who died in the newborn ward at the Countess of Chester Hospital in northwest England between June 2015 and June 2016, were provided anonymity and were only identified by letters, such as Child A and Child B.

After Tropical Storm Hilary, Dodger Stadium wasn’t flooded, disproving popular aerial photographs
Users of social media may have observed that on Sunday, Dodger Stadium was trending due to images and videos that led some to believe the parking lot and surrounding area had flooded. However, it wasn’t the case.
That illusion is being produced by the reflection that the wet, rainy parking lot is producing.
The Dodgers posted on social media in response to the misrepresentation, writing: “Dodger Stadium trending? We get it. It looks beautiful this morning.”
